Finding the right suppliers to cater for your special day is probably one of the hardest things that a future bride, her partner and her parents are likely to undertake. Organising a wedding is right up there in the stress stakes alongside moving house and yet it’s supposed to be a celebration, a cheerful event, a highlight of your life, so why is it so hard?
“Part of the problem” explains Kim Fletcher of Event Heydays and co-founder of the Wedding Professionals Network “is the busy lifestyles we tend to lead.” A few years ago, a wedding planner, be it the Bride and her mum, or a family friend, would know people in the community from other weddings and social functions that gave a great service and were reliable, in 2010 most brides will attend just three or four weddings as a guest whilst planning their own wedding and in truth, weddings now are more individualised, tailored for the unique couple that you are”
What the Wedding Professionals Network does is bring some of the best talent in the market to one place for you to browse, compare and select from. It’s rather like a permanent wedding show at your convenience, photographers, transportation, room decor, cakes, entertainers, venues and stationers all compete to get your booking, but more importantly for you, all get on well enough so that when something unforeseen happens, like for example, an ash cloud stops your photographer getting home, you are contacted immediately and informed that a suitable and equally accredited replacement is on standby to capture your day. Whether you use the standby is up to you but what a relief that was for a couple in April 2010.
To join the network, suppliers have to satisfy not only the network founders, but also the other members that they are fit to join, and not everyone makes it, membership is strictly by invitation, and members will be operating legally and have excellent customer service track records, or they leave, simple as that our members will not have a rogue operator damaging our reputation. Members have been recommended by past customers and many by fellow suppliers, indeed it’s quite normal for a room decor company to work closely with the dress suppliers to make sure the chaircovers complement the bridesmaid dresses and the DJ to work with the videographer to ensure a slick presentation that looks good and sounds great.
Planning your day shouldn’t be stressful, it should be like shopping for anything else fun, enjoy comparing goods and services, ask the important questions and strike a good deal the key thing is getting the right people for the job, different photographers have differing styles, two cake artistes might be equally qualified but one will be in tune with your designs, this is why we like choice. “Off the shelf” wedding receptions were great when there was limited variety, “off the wall” unique events of the modern age are as special and individual as you are and our members, conveniently gathered into one place for you, will be keen to help you realise your perfect day, and have some fun doing it.
This is YOUR day, you are the star of your own show and the eyes of everyone you know will be on you. You don’t just need a strong supporting cast, you deserve it. Our members don’t aim to satisfy our customers, we aim to delight, inspire and enthuse them.
